Has Prof Scott set a date for his annual lecture at the Mackays Hotel? It's always a highlight of the July calendar

I only ever saw him talk once. He was the guest speaker at the Gala night in Wick. It was rare indeed. I searched him out at the end and shook his hand. A right Weeker.

This year's event is a joint book launch with Ian Fleming's nephew at Mackays Hotel on 30th July at 7.30- but it appears to be invitation only- with 100 signed copies of the book for sale

and the man himself is whizzing around the county on his bike- while out in Wick, caught a glimpse of him....

Oh dear, poor James Fleming; forever to be referred to as Ian Fleming's nephew (tongue-in-cheek).

Any truth in the rumour that the book launch co-incides with the opening of the Caithness Artists exhibition- and that the reason for the invitation only is that Prince Charles will be there?
