Anybody got a rough idea how much to travel to Edinburgh from Wick for a family of 5? Bus or train?
Cheers

Kids go free with Scotrail, but sometimes it can be cheaper to get friends tickets and pay for the kids, this is presuming your family of 5 includes kids. Also is sometimes cheaper to buy split tickets, ie Wick to Inverness and then Inverness to Edinburgh. Even though travelling on the same trains it sometimes is cheaper. Also a rail card, though costs £26 I think, it gives a good reduction on the fares.

The woman who works in Thurso train ticket office is really helpful, and will find you the best fares. Sure whoever works in Wick is good too, but not been in there, lol!

This might be helpful

But as the ticketing system is so complicated it might be easier to ask at the station.
