Since yesterday, my PC is taking much longer to load webpages and download files. Plus, my internet radio keeps cutting off. I'd be a little bit happier if I knew it wasn't just me...?

No problems here, for a change.

Just wondering if you should have selected Aberdeen instead of Morecambe because mine was down to 0.04mb/s but upload was same as yours.

Same ISP here. It must be an BT exchange thing. But, as I type, I get a sense of normality having returned - this page loaded fine and I've just watched a daft wee video on Yahoo, something that would normally judder at 8.20 of an evening.

I get pretty much the same speed results regardless of which server I select.

Your individual ISP up here doesn't matter to a certain extent, they all buy from BT so if there's a speed problem in the area it's usually a BT problem either:

A degraded link, line card or DSLAM problem at your exchange
Maintenance work being done at the exchange
A problem with the RAS you connect through (they're all in Edinburgh)
A congested VP basically they over subscribe a line, like selling two seats to four people

All you can really do is complain to your ISP, mention other people on different ISPs are haven't the same problem and hope that they go to BT with it.

EDIT: Some ISPs have a tendency of cheating and upping the priority of traffic to testing sites so thinks look faster than they are, you should really use the official BT tester (http://speedtester.bt.com/) anyway or they won't care or think you're making it up.

This (http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest.php) is also good to see if your ISP is traffic shaping in general.

So far I've had no problem.
