View Full Version : Thurso's own Indiana Jones?
I see that Ashley Cowie is presenting a new series on the SYFY channel called Legend Quest. It is premiered on 13th July and I am looking forward to watching it.

I noticed that and will have it sky+'d.
Having read a couple of his books, I worry if he has gone one step too far though, most "greats" make one great discovery, how many can he find?
<EDIT> I had to laugh at the video trailer "RIGHT AFTER THE PREMIER OF GHOST HUNT INTERNATIONAL".........Ashley is in distinguished company so it would seem!
Production all feels a bit Bear Grylls but fair play to him. I will certainly be watching.

what exactly does the large breasted, skimpy top and hot pant wearing hottie bring to the party ?
i'd rather let Bear chew off my own balls and eat them in front of me before i watched this drivel
local lad, fair play, but come on, there's much better tv going on out there

Do you think Baywatch would have become the most watched TV show of all time if the women had worn Cardigans?
Not aware of this chap before, fair play to him. Isn't the SYFY not like.....pish rather than factual? Is he an actual historian or tv personality?
He used to be on the org years ago. Fine block. No harm in cashing in on the mystery surrounding some of his interests.
Mind you I thought he was a Weeker.

He was a part time historian, he had some interesting theories on the templars and Roslyn, I've got 2 of his books.
Although I agree that although Syfy doesn't have the intellectual appeal of national geographic, I'll still give it a try.

Im not aware of this particular chap either, nor am I aware of what the rather lovely sounding hottie you talk of has to do with it. Until you posted this, I had no intentions of watching. Now however.......
So I suppose that answers your question. "Large breasted, skimpy top and hot pant wearing hottie" brings viewers such as my self!

Hi
yeah I though Ashley was a Weeker too!!!!
It looks like a *** blast ***!!!
Wish it was on Channel 4 or something terrestrial, unfortunately I won't get to see it.
Some people never have an adventure ... it looks like he's having several !
Good luck man,
:)

My female friends say Ashley turns them speechless, and they go weak at the knees in his presence, so he's a weeker in at least one sense.
I presume this is the same Ashley Cowie who went to Wick High School and is the son of Jim and Mary Cowie who have the Captain's Galley in Scrabster - and a great restaurant it is!

it was a rhetorical question, obviously wearing a waterlogged cardigan would impinge on a lifeguards ability to carry out life saving duties
sex sells, but a discovery type program shouldn't resort to this, it cheapens it for me and makes me doubt the credibility of the show :confused
a nice bum and pair of boobs detracts from the content, he's definitely passionate, knowledgeable and has a great enthusiasm for his subject, but the producers obviously thought ...'sod it, if they don't like the subject, they can always enjoy some t & a'
if i want to watch soft porn, i'll watch it
if i want to watch a documentary, i'll watch it
but never the twain shall meet
that's why i sold my tony robinson casting tapes
if beavis and butthead ever make documentaries, this will be their template
it was a rhetorical question..................
So was mine!
It looks like "Legend Quest" is only being shown on the other side of the Atlantic for now.

I see Legend Quest totally smashed ratings expectations in the US. Ashley's Premier got 1.2 million viewers - more than SyFy's 3 leading shows added together. Anyone know when its on over here?
No idea when it's on over here. I did some PC work for Ashley a few years ago. He's a fine chap, always friendly and personable.....hope this show takes off for him. :)
