Retirement is wonderful John, at last you are in charge of your own time!

Well, in between meeting friends for lunch, taking up new interests, doing the cooking, keeping the garden nice and tidy, washing the car, doing all those jobs around the house that have been needing doing for years such as painting the spare room, putting up even more shelves, tidying the garage and putting in a patio; all to be done when you want to!

Take your time!

a wee question john, are you retiring under your own steam? Or are have you been put out to pasture, because you are now past your sell by date.

John Little
26-Jun-11, 13:26
LOL! Good question Golach!!

I'm going under my own steam because I have had quite enough. There's lots of other things I want to do before time is called. To me 'pension' does not mean putting my feet up but 'assured income' so that I can do what I want to do - within means.

Mainly it's about freedom I think.

That wonderful feeling of waking up in the morning and thinking "What shall I do today?". Choice. Freedom. Liberty.

And to be defined by who you are, and not what you do.

Priceless.

Are you like me?, rushing around trying to get everything done, finish any project, tidy up paperwork, reports up to date, scheduling stuff for after you've gone?

Or more laid back, "if it isn't done......... (shrug).

John Little

Were you on strike today? [lol]

Sorry, just seen the time, yesterday?

John Little
01-Jul-11, 06:27
I was not on strike yesterday as I work in the private sector and do not currently pay into a public sector pension fund.

Day Zero.

No days left - a few short hours.
