Electrifying John O' Groats to Land's End run

PETROL or electricity...that is the question?
Certainly, the latter might have increased its chances, following the success of a John O' Groats to Lands End run by an electric car.
The Tesla Roadster finished the 894-mile journey, earlier this week, with Kevin Sharpe at the wheel. The eco charity boss was accompanied by satellite systems engineer, David Pellow. The pair recharged the car at Aviemore and Kirknewton, Midlothian, before making four more stops south of the Border during their 36-hour journey.
The fuel consumption of a mere £20 is a persuasive factor, if electro-cars ever take off. A family car would have incurred £138 in petrol for the same distance.
However, with the price of the prototype Tesla, a cool £86,000, the revolutionary motor car that doesn't use petrol, is a good distance down the road.
