Nice short history called 'Reay, Looking at the Pat' by Reay School Pupils.

There is also a book called Memories of our Parish by Donald Mackay which may be of some use.

Are there a lot of cows in the village then?

It is amazing how many Pats, sorry Prats there are on the list. Pity that people like Green_not_Greed cannot be helpful rather than sarcastic. Still if he or she gets pleasure by writing such cow pats I suppose we must let him, her or it have his, her or its moment of glee!

'This was my glen', Caithness Notebook no 2, by Donald Mackay. Mainly about Shebster/Shurrery in Reay Parish. Its in the library. Worth reading.

Why not track down and question some of the older residents, I bet they'd have some tales. Also the Minters at Sandside seem very knowledgeable about the area.
