Try the fishing shops or Allan's of Gillock, CLB, any of the stores where you can buy nuts and bolts usually sell them too for work people.
I usually get my ones from MacGregors Industrial Supplies in Inverness.

Im suffering too as well as Peppa the bunny (he is covered in midgies when I return the buns to the hutch) Im threatening in asking my mum and dad for the midgie eater back if they are not using it, as it seriously cuts the midgie numbers down!

Be careful with the buns Dadie as although not proven it is thought that midgies can pass on myxi so worth some fly screening fixed over the hutch fronts with velcro

Omg never thought about myxi....just fleas mites and worms...
They are covered for them.....but I come out in big welts when attacked by the common midgie..even with slathering on the sss by avon(its the blue one now)and antihistamines!

Worms wont carry myxi fleas will, lidl do fly netting packs sometimes and I stock up on it for this time of year it also has the sticky velcro, bit of a pain when filling water bottles but better than myxi. You can vaccinate against it but as myxi is a mutating virus they need done every 6 months and it doesn't stop them getting it, it just gives them a better survival rate. Better to prevent it.

They say eating Marmite also helps. Our skin emits a smell they don't like, but humans can't smell it. I started taking anihistimine tablets a few weeks ago. Midges still bite a bit, but I don't itch like in previous years. I also use citronella oil mixed with a carrier oil if I'm going to spend some time in the garden, and that works.
