Hi everyone.

I recently bought an MK4 Golf which is quite a challenge since I've never had central looking using the button on a fob and all the 'fancy' bits that come with it such as opening windows / sunroof at the push of a button http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/redface.png.

The current problem is that the hatchback door does not lock when all doors are locked with the fob button.

Also, the "Service Now" message comes on every time I start the car - is there a chance to stop this?

Thanks for reading and any hints / tips etc.

You probably need a new lock or solenoid for the boot door.

Getting the car serviced will get rid of the "service" message.

If your sure that your doesn't need a service, here is how to reset it.

My Alfa's fob has never worked. But thats OK. I was told by an expert the other day that you always need to keep one small fault. As soon as everything is fixed, the thing will go catastrophically wrong!
