I mentioned this on another thread, but on hindsight feel it merits a thread of it's own.

The Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/council-spending/8542909/Councils-spend-100m-on-taxpayer-funded-credit-cards.html) has revealed details of Council spending on taxpayer-funded credit cards. It then goes on to list various councils, including Highland (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/council-spending/8542115/Highland-Council-credit-card-spending.html). This list only covers spending over £500, so goodness knows what that lot come to.

Some expenses we are paying for:-

Outdoor Adventures (http://www.adventureswhistler.com/)......£838.90

Performerzone (http://www.performerszone.com/).......£514.18

South African Hospitality (http://africacentrelodge.co.za/)........£2418.93

There are hundreds more to choose from.

Considering the cut-backs at the moment, I think all these expenses, including charges less than £500, should be published, stating who made the charge, and why.

Yep................As Cameron said "We are all in this together"...Well, apparently not. When the Council can use credit Cards for Jollies then its time for action!!!

I shall be writing to the Council to voice my disapproval, anyone else want to take up the fight?

Hmm Joillie's but for who? my immediate reaction was that it would be for school kids/outdoor education/youth work/social work children in care or something like that.
They seem to spend a heck of a lot in the Plumb Centre.

The £500 limit is clearly a way to hide some things, councils argue that it would cost too much to compile the information yet most of them use online receipt and expenses systems that have the information already.
