 Heehee...very amusing. Give it a bit, though, and I expect someone will come up with a counter-proof, or rebuttal....;)

m + w = 6,534,489,454 and rising fast.

Old mathematicians never die........they just lose some of their functions!

Not to be pedantic, but your proof has a flaw...the quote is "love of money is the root of all problems". You forgot to factor love into your equation!

Hmmmm..... good point. But it serves as a reasonable first approximation, maybe  .

And Elenna was right, too!

Just a point about this, if people are going to make complaints about generalisations and being insulting to large groups of people then perhaps they should not post things like this. It makes it difficult to moderate when those who are quick to complain about abuse to one group can happily abuse another. I know that this is a light hearted thread but I felt I should make the point anyway.

The beautiful relationship I have with my wonderful wife disproves this mathematical equation. I was an engineer major and and a mathematics minor; however married to a precious woman.

Owld Bootneck, I totally agree with you, as of about two weeks time I am 44 years married, no way can our marriage be broken down to a mathamatical equation, we have had our ups and downs, more ups than downs, Marriage is a compromise, two people learning to live together...for 44 years we have.
