Ah hev a few latin tags in ma brain learned at e age o 9, afore at glaiket film Braveheart ah knew a aboot William Wallace, a boyhood hero, e Black Douglas, an Robert e Bruce. Mr Constable wiz sa enthusiastic aboot art at id made me look at id. Ma early learning took place at at e school; ah learned till read an write an till speak properly an ma career wiz built on fit ah learned ere. ah learned some caithness poetry an how till behave.

Ma teychurs, o whom ah am still in awe, taught me good manners an respect for others - sometimes wi e use o e tawse. owe e miller academy an awful lot.

Ah think ah want till say thankyou till an amazing school. Ma understanding at id still is.

Great school, tried to teach me English there. Mrs Smedley a great music teacher , in fact as a "wee loon" I used to fancy her! She used to drive a blue MG sportscar as I remember.

john, i came up wi' some o' ma better ideas fan ah wis oot on ma bike...its maybe obvious that i hevna bin on'ed lately...:lol:

seriously, i wis off on ma bike one day an' i got til thinkin aboot ma grany. it wis her birthday comin up an i couldna think fit til get her. she niver uses anythin, cana see til read, disna go oot much..i wis truely stumpt an' a bit doon on'ed...when i suddenly thot, had on a menid....ma grany disna want presents!! she choost wants til see me, wants ma time. so what i do now is stay over wi' her ivry 2nd or 3rd weekend an' we hev a great laugh.

we hev a p'jama party, i hev booze an' we watch films on ma lap top, speak aboot 'e aulden days, argue aboot God an Jesus. i tell her all ma secrets, she tells me hers. she's a really cool wifie.

also anither time i wis off on ma bike, i wis meditatin at 'e cliffs roond 'e trinkie an when i wis on ma way home i met a little moosie. all curled up in a ball. i got off ma bike an knealt doon beside him an hed a rite yarn. he sat lookin up at me wi' his little beady eyes. i wis too scared til touch him tho, in case he bit me. but efter a bit he sort o' turned an scutterd off, no before turnin roond an' gien me a cheeky wee wink.....it wis really cool an felt prity magical really :D

Fan ah wiz younger ah cycled fey land end till john o groats an went e long way roond - up e west coast an along e gret glen an up e east coast. Ah took ma time because ah am no record breaker an did id in 13 days. Wife wid love till div id an sa now at ah am aboot till tak ma well earned retirement we are going till get ourselves fit for next year an div e ride. She is in no stroosh an we will make a holiday o id an will probably tak e best part o a month. Nor sa fit - we'll enjoy id. we'll probably div id sponsored for e british hert foundation nor will pay wur own way. Ifanow we are thinking at iss year we micht bring wur bikes up till Caithness for e end o e summer for a holiday - at wid be fun an wid help wur fitness. We shall see,

Ah hev gone soft since leaving e far north. Id may be at it's a bit cowld for shorts for me. ah note at e locals hev a habit o running roond in shorts an tee shirt fan ah am wrapped up in every stitch ah possess - an think hailstones on 8 august is e height o summer. Ah fear at a ye will see is ma thermals jacket an tracksuit.
