Yes, thanks, as above, the Laidhay tearoom is open now, for breakfasts and through the day. Will confirm exact opening hours from tomorrow. And.. tomorrow, Monday, is the first day open for the museum, 10am to 5pm throughout the summer.. come visit!

Also, another good auction sale yesterday, although not quite as busy as we would have hoped, but successful and fun none the less. Check our website - http://www.laidhay.co.uk - or search Laidhay Croft Museum on Facebook for more details and pictures, coming in the next day or two.

Thank you.

First day open, bit slow, very heavy rain which put a stop to the painting of the doors and window frames and pretty much everything.. oh well. In the tearoom today, it is open from 9am through to 5pm, and well worth a drop by.

The breakfast was very different from Jeans. Two rashers of bacon, a sausage, an egg, half a tomato, slice of black pudding (not quality butchers pudding) a mushroom quartered. £ 5.50. Bill came to £14.80 so tea and toast are extras where before it was all inclusive.

The cakes were not particularly tempting, not much choice and seemed quite pricey at around the £1.50 mark each.

The cafe has been redecorated and tables laid out differently so it appears more spacious, but not as many touristy things on sale and didn`t notice any CD`s for sale.

Worth a visit, and interesting to hear other comments.

On the baking front, they have 3 different people doing it and so may vary. Maybe towards end of the week & weekends are better where I know the baking is very good.
