There we have you all sorted for Saturday ! Oxford St for the morning then the afternoon in Covent Garden followed by early evening in China Town (small area wont take too long to walk along) then clubbing it for the evening !

If you'd gone two nights earlier you'd have seen Roger Waters joined onstage by David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Waters and Gilmour played Comfortably Numb.

yesterday i went aboot masel an met loads o' really cool people. i took off fie ma hotel an walked aboot 5 miles...stopin off at different pubs so i hed landmarks when it came til findin ma wie home. also i tried til walk in a straight line so i widna get lost.

i watched 'e football in paddington, hed a couple o' pints wi' some lassies that i met. kept goin then til i came til notting hill. checkt oot some clothes shops...jeasus, really dear. lek 400 kwid for a wee vest top thing that ye widna want til pay more than 4 kwid for!!

further along i hed twa brandys sittin oot in 'e sun an wis bletherin til a right fine auld manie. then i stopt off in a cocktail bar an' got speakin til a few lads who went til 'e concert on 'e night that 'e remainin floyd members came on stage - 'at wid o' bin cool lek.

am readin '1984' ifanow an' its amazin 'e amount o' fowk who come up an start speakin til me aboot'ed. i spent ages in a religious bookshop an' bought a book on 'e Quran an some perfume for ma mam.

i started til heid back aboot half 6 when i seen a pub called 'e green man so i went in, only planin stayin for one. i got in tow wi' some people an' next i wis up singin on 'e karaoke, hevin a great time. then boozy came an got me aboot half 10. we went back til ma hotel an hed some brandy an beer. its choost as weel he did come for me cos i wis miles awie fie ma hotel an' i hedna come in a straight line at'all. no wie wid i hev found ma wie home lek.....

i hevna seen anyone famous yet though some lassie came runnin up til me yesterday an' asked if i wis famous. she wis awful disapointed when i telt her i wisna, "are ye sure i hevna seen ye on 'e telly?" she asked
sayin 'at, 'e night before 'at, some guy came an asked if we wis homeless. i suppose we were sittin in a doorway drinkin reid wine fie a bottle in broon paper bag

am awful dry aday, think il go for a drink at 'e bar doon stairs an' then hev a wee rest before thinkin aboot 'e shower. am getin prity excited aboot ma concert now.....kenin ma luck il lekly pass oot choost as roger comes on stage, il be getin carried oot on a stretcher an miss 'e whole show

aw....what a magic time i hed in london!!

before 'e concert we walked aroond london. went on 'e undergroond an' stuff...i wis only a little bit worried aboot bombs goin off.
we went a wander roond camden market, shared some noodles an' a halfy o' rum before goin til 'e concert. we seen gail porter, wi no hair.

we met a german guy who wis attendin 'e concert for 'e 6th time - beeg beeg fan, he wis sayin that gilmour 'ukt up a few times on his solo!

'e show itsel wis fantastic, choost great. as guid as ye wid expect, an' then some.....
we hed a fine heidy on us an i hed ma hip flask in wi' me, filled wi some irish.

though we wisna at 'e front we could see alrite as 'e wall wis built up an lots o' animation was projected on til'ed. amazin art work lek!!
roger nearly fell over some cable as he walked off 'e stage 'at 'e end.

bought masel a hoody top - 55 kwid!! prity dear lek but nice material an' a guid design wi' 'roger waters the wall' written on 'e front an 'e hammers on 'e back.

efterwards we went a wild walk roond soho an' seen a few trannies. most o' 'e pubs were shut but we wisna bothered aboot getin druwnk, we wis kwite happy wanderin aboot, checkin oot 'e sights.

next day boozy said he wid be roond at one but he niver came til aboot 5. i wisna carin tho....i thot til masel, "am in london baby.....all by masel!!"
it wis really liberatin lek. i choost sat ootside, at 'e back o' ma hotel, mindin ma own business wi' a few pints an ma book. i knew he wid come for me....

we took off (no before checkin oot big ben) an' stayed 'e nite in manchester wi' an irish jew wifie, elaine. she wis really nice an hed a lovely comfy bied.
we met her bairns, an their bairns....hed a guid feed an' then took off up 'e rod.

i picked up ma car an' choost got oot o' inverness an what do ye think happened???

blue lights flashin me!!

"excuse me ma'am, wid ye mind stepin oot o' 'e car"

"oh dear officer, hev a done somethin wrong?"

"wid ye breath intil 'iss wee contraption thing, choost lek ye wis blowin up a balloon"

obviously, it wis clear.....

he says, "we were a bit concerned aboot yer speed...can ye explain how ye wis goin fie 40 miles an' oer up til 50 miles an' oer...then back doon til 40 again?"

i started til laugh (nervously) an' explained that 'e last time i came up 'iss rod i wrote ma car off an nearly killed me an ma friend, an that i wis a bit nervous....
they were really fine aboot'ed an' telt me til take ma time until i felt more confident.

i telt them i wis stayin at ma bri'rs hoose in dornoch an they went off.

anyway, iv decided that i want til live in london now so il hev til see if i can get someone til sponsor me or somethin

i want til say thanks til boozy for lookin efter me in london an' his mhi'r who foned aboot an' got us 'e accomodation...she sounds lek a really nice wifie.

- yer biegee is weel turned oot an' am sure yer very proud...he wis a perfect gentleman ;) x x

You really should be a writer.

Yes, really! You have a great, racy narrative style, and an enthusiastic curiosity which brilliantly brings what you're describing to life. The dialect is beautifully transcribed, and you have such an eye for what is funny and different. There is a good and lively and funny book to be writ. Please have a go!

They have Krispy Kreme in the UK now? They suddenly expanded all over the US a few years back, only to over-stretch themselves and nearly go out of business. They are OK if you buy them hot right at the shop, but pretty second-rate otherwise. Anyone visiting LA, go to Randy's Donuts near the airport, http://randys-donuts.com/ though the coffee is not great!

I used to find your writing hard to understand and often avoided it lol, but once you get used to it you find it very easy to read.

Your comments about places and people are brilliant, you really should consider writing if only short stories and send them off to magazines to start off with. I think you will be pleasantly surprised when they print them ! Especially when they pay you as well ....

Do you know, I've been following Trix's thread on her escapades in London, and just before I clicked on it just now, I was thinking......"Gosh, that lassie could write a book"

Ironic or what ? You're just brilliant Trix with your Caithness lingo !! Please, as so many other Orgers have encouraged you to do, put pen to paper and write....! ;)

I agree with all of that. And I add that there is a raw elemental force to it that makes compelling reading. It's dynamic, crackles with creativity and makes a fine read. How many Caithness dialect writers are there?

Because there's another one here and I want to buy a copy of your first book - Aventures o a Kaitness lascie in London...

Good for you, Trix, nothing ventured, nothing gained -- too many people look back in life and regret missed opportunities. You make friends quickly wherever you go so you will fare fine in the big city. Keep us posted and once you get settled start writing that book!

is their anythin iv forgotten aboot....?

Yes, be very careful who you rent your house to. A friend of mine, whose in the RAF moved to Peterborough and let his house out through a reputable letting agency. Turned out rented by some folk, who turned it into a cannabis factory. They moved in set everything up , harvested the crop and were out in three months. His house was a wreck.
