Aaaaah! Really pulling my hair out. Have new Barometer but canna get it set up. Seemingly I need to find the air pressure in my area. How does one find this?? Any help gratefully received and I will be able to hang my new toy!

Have a look at a weather map with isobar lines on it. Works best when we are near the middle of a high pressure with big spaces between the isobar lines. What you need is the pressure reading in mm Hg (it will be something like 980 - 1050).

PM tugmistress, I'm sure she wouldn't see a fellow weather watcher struggle, or change the thread title to something more descriptive

Go to www.xcweather.co.uk and click on the pressure tab on the right hand side, at the moment wick is at about 1014.2mb it shows barometric pressure at sea level, if you are higher in altitude your barometric pressure will not read as high as the air pressure is less.

This post has just reminded me that I have had a Barometer on my office wall for over four years and I have never checked it, so I took a look at it and says fair, is it set right Tugs?

oops, just seen your post Kevin, sorry for delay
I would say 'fair' is what we have been having the last few days so it will be about right yes :)
