My Pc is really slow and When i try to access webpages, it says: THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED . DNS error. EG: when i try to sign into msn it says that,Can you help, if you can, email me please: robin1991@tiscali.co.uk

sounds like the same problem i had when i had MSN so we had 2 deleted everything out of the computer and load it all back in, then i loaded MSN back in after a week or so then it started again, so we deleted everything out and loaded it all back in again

I have never put MSN back in the computer and no more problems

I blame MSN!!

run a virus scan too to check for trojans. may not fix your problem but everyone should use these as spybot helps protect your pc

As grmacken said, run Spybot Search and Destroy (update the definitions before you use it) and run a virus check. If you don't have an anti-virus program, you can doownload AVG free from here (http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/)
Be aware that running Spybot may stop some "free" advertising supported programs from running.

However, a virus scanner will not necessarily detect trojans, so you can run an online trojan scan from Sygate here (http://scan.sygate.com/pretrojanscan.html)
You can also download a free firewall from Sygate, here (http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm)

Also, if you're using Internet Explorer, delete your temparary internet files, and clear the cookies and history.

What version of Windows are you using, and what type if internet connection do you have? Does the PC run alright when not connected to the internet? Are you using any P2P software, such as Kazaa?

yeah, I agree with RIR, a lot of people dont know what firewalls are, a computer on broadband will on average last 20 minutes before being hacked.

a friend had rebuilt his pc and went onto the internet to download the firewall, took him 5 minutes to download and and before he could install it a hacker had created a new user account and forced his pc to restart. :roll:

Thanks for your help but none of these things worked. Ive been emailed a page from microsoft.com corresponding to the error i am getting but it never helped either. Im witing for the HCS in thurso to be open because everytime i go up, the shop is closed (Even in the morning)
