Assault and resisting police alleged


IN the latest custody case at Wick Sheriff Court, a Thurso woman is accused of assault and her co-accused is charged with obstructing and resisting the police.
The two are Elizabeth Gillespie c/o 11c Ormlie Road and John Glover of 4 Bleachfield, both Thurso, who both pleaded not guilty.
The charges against Gillespie (24) alleged that she assaulted Malcolm Sinclair grabbed him, scratched his head and pushed him, causing him to fall; assaulted John Miller by pushing him and causing him to fall, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and resisted the police.
Glover (41) is accused of resisting and obstructing the police and attempting to prevent, Gillespie from being detained and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. The offences are alleged to have occurred at a house in Marr Terrace, Thurso, on May 4.
Both accused were granted bail will return to court for their trial, on August 3.
