Sledgehammer theft accused alarmed residents.

A THURSO man has admitted charges of theft and assault.
Scott Mackenzie pleaded guilty when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, on Tuesday.
One of the charges alleges that he stole a sledgehammer from a house at 16 Holborn Place, Scrabster, on Sunday.
The second charge alleges that he behaved in an abusive or threatening manner likely to cause alarm, by shouting and swearing at the occupants of that house.
Sentence on Mackenzie (20) of Shebster Court, Thurso, was deferred until May 27, for background reports.

Breached bail

In a separate case, Johnny Gardner admitted breaching a bail condition.
It made him subject to a 7pm-7am curfew but the court was told that when police checked up on him, at 11.45pm on April 29, he wasn’t available.
Gardner, (20) of Owen Place, Wick,was remanded in custody pending reports which will come before the court, on May 23.
