HAVE YOUR SAY ON ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

THE public is being asked to comment on plans produced by Highland Council and Northern Constabulary on tackling antisocial behaviour.
In accordance with the Antisocial Behaviour etc (Scotland) Act 2004, they have prepared a joint draft strategy (http://www.highland.gov.uk/livinghere/housing/) to inform the public, stakeholders and partners of the proposed direction in responding to incidents of antisocial behaviour in the Highlands.
The deadline for responses is Monday 25 July 2011.
The strategy takes account of the wider community safety agenda and commitment to deliver positive outcomes set out in the Highland Single Outcome Agreement. The strategy also details the multi agency coordinated approach that is already in operation in Highland communities.
Councillor Margaret Davidson, Chairman of Highland Council’s Housing and Social Work Committee, said: “Both the Council and the police treat antiscocial behaviour very seriously and that is why we are working together to produce a plan of action that deals effectively with the problem.
“A number of organisations and council Services have contributed to the draft strategy, but as antisocial behaviour affects individuals and communities, it is important that as many views as possible are taken into account before the strategy is finalised.”
The strategy and consultation form can be accessed here (http://www.highland.gov.uk/livinghere/housing/) or in paper format by contacting 01463 702209.
