update the fire was put out about 45 mins after the call was made

then the fire engines got stuck but they did there jobs so well done guys!

The agricultural payments people are cracking down on farmers for having pasture reduced by gorse and bracken, and fining them heavily. This is why we see so many whins on fire, or being dragged out by tractors. It is a ridiculous rule. Gorse is often the only shelter thath hill sheep have in winter, and plays host to a lot of wildlife. BTW, burning whins I think comes under the muirburn code, and fires should not be set after April 15th for obvious reasons
