Everyone BEWARE of what sounds like a call centre phoning you saying that they are from Windows and that they have had error reports sent to them from your computer. They will try to talk you through clearing corrupt files but it is a HUGE SCAM and they are trying to get access to your computer remotely into all of your files and then will try to charge you for what they think they are giving as "Advice" over the phone.
They have obviously picked our dialling code now 01955 or 01847 and they will phone through all the numbers in the phone book so spread the word and dont fall for it.
Thanks :)

I've been getting at least four calls a day from them, so 01593 has obviously been hammered already. I used to ask them how they came to the conclusion I was running Windows and not Linux if they had not already given me a virus which told them that..and used to get "Expletive deleted" Off, the phone slammed down......and a repeat call from a different person later on.

I now say that I am aware that it is a scam call, and that I am recording it to send to the appropriate authorities, the phone goes down at their end PDQ....and the number of calls are reducing......slowly, but reducing.

I have had the phone call twice first time I politely told him to go away. The second time I wasn't polite!
