I would guess anywhere from £1500 to £2500+.

I know somebody who had it done on a homer for £1000 about 8? years ago but they had to supply scaffold etc.

I would happily come round and give you a acurate quote if you like. i cant see it being more than £2000 depending on how many external walls you have.

From people I have spoken to it could cost you £10-15,000 from a building firm, but cost will depend on who supplies materials, scaffold etc. Have fun getting a quote!

For a 4 Bedroom house I think you would be really Lucky to get it done for £10,000. I would think it would be closer to the £15,000.

@theone Your price was not only for a Homer but 8 Years ago. A Homer would only cost a fifth of a contactor and then add on 8 Years later, this would equate to at least £12,000 for work from a decent contractor in 2011.

Thanks for all the comments, i would like to think in the region of £2,000, for a brickie as a homer, no way would i pay £10-15,000 to get a house harralled as you wouldnt get the value back when you go and sell it.

If you are going to get it done as a homer can I suggest Caithness Buliding Supplies for your harl. Got my house done by a mate last year and they were a lot cheaper than other local suppliers.

Yes, I realise it was a homer 8 years ago, and hence it would be a lot cheaper.

But for me, for work like this, non structural and not requiring a building warrant etc I wouldn't go to a major contractor. In the same way I wouldn't go to a main dealer to do minor work on my car.

The going rate for a bricky is anywhere between £10 and £15 an hour. In this economic climate I'm sure there's plenty available for cash jobs for less, and I'd be surprised if 2 men couldn't do that house in 5 days.

Yes, you might get better guarantees and service from a main contractor, butconsidering the difference in price, i don't see that as good value for money.

We had Mackay Precast in Wick do our house. There prices were no where near £10-£15000 infact less than half of the lower figure and did a fabulous job.
Highly recommended!
Oh and we have a rather large 4 bedroom house with 6 different walls!
