MS group will give local support

A NEW charity has been launched in the county with the aim of supporting people whose lives are affected by multiple sclerosis.
Named MS People Caithness, its focus is entirely local and any money raised will be spent on local people.
And local children, 11 years and under, are to play an important part in establishing MSPC. They are being asked to design a logo the charity will use on its promotional material and letterheads. The only proviso is, that the design is limited to the use of a white background and the colours are blue and green.
These colours have been chosen to exemplify the Caithness landscape with green hills and a blue sky.
Entries should be posted, or handed into Wick Sheriff Court, Bridge Street, Wick KW1 4AJ, with the envelope marked “Logo Competition”, no later than May 31.
On the promotional front, the programme drawn up for this year, includes a spa day and associated raffle at Katrina Sutherland’s Country Spa, Lybster, on July 6 and a band gig in the autumn. The charity will also have a website up and running, soon.
The charity’s steering group is looking for volunteers to give a little of their time to help run MSPC. It is anticipated that most meetings will take place during the day and that the time commitment will be modest.

MSPC is a Scottish Charity No SCO42191.
