Won't be an anti-virus as there designed to help remove/stop viruses.
Douse the same thing happen in safe mode and Have you tried running system restore?

When you say crashes, is it switching off, or freezing? If so then it could be overheating (usually noticable as the fan becoming louder and/or running constantly) which is quite often the result of the fan exhaust getting clogged up with lint & dust bunnies. On the bottom of the laptop there will probably be a circle comprising many small holes - this is the fan air intake. Look around that and see if it is part of a removable panel - if it does not appear to be removable, and is instead part of the whole underside of the unit, then it's a longish and fiddly job which is best left to someone familiar with dismantling them. However, if there is a removable panel, then a few screws and the panel should prise off and you should be able to access the fan area, remove the fan and clear out the wedge of accumulated lint & dust with a carefully aimed brush/hoover combination.

You seem to have terms mixed up.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware :)

Anti-virus = Good
Malware = Bad
