Two alleged to have allowed poached deer to bleed to death
.
TWO Caithness men are set to stand trial on poaching charges.
William Dunnett, 33, from Fairview, Halkirk and William Sutherland 26, who lives in Lord Thurso Court, Thurso, pleaded not guilty at Wick Sheriff Court today and were granted bail, pending their trial on June 9.
One of the charges alleges that they wilfully killed a roe deer by using a dog to bring her down and then cutting her and allowing her to bleed to death.
They also deny killing the deer at Barnsdale, Harpsdale, on Monday, without permission and removing the carcass.
