Hi folks,

looking for some help please -our son is going to Aberdeen college in Sept. and we need ideas of where to find student accommodation. Does anyone have any experience of finding accommodation or ideas of where to look please.

Did contact the college but they just advised buying a local paper or looking at a B and B.
Don't really know Aberdeen so any suggestions on good / bad areas would be very, very welcome.

I have one away in Aberdeen at present and another one is going to join her after the holidays. Our oldest stayed in Halls for the first year and is now in accommodation provided by Ardmuir which is a company which caters for student accommodation. ( they work similar to halls but better )

http://www.ardmuir.co.uk/

We have had no problems with this company and the accommodation is clean, modern and the kids have been well catered for. Internet is not available in the rooms and they can install their own telephone line if they wish. All in all a pleasant experience.

Another company similar to Ardmuir is called unite.

I am now looking for a flat for the children as paying two separate accommodation fees is quite expensive and a flat will be the cheaper option.

There is plenty accommodation available for students it all boils down to the one main driving factor .......money and how much it all costs.
Hope this helps. :D

Our son is in his third year at Aberdeen Uni. First year in Halls and this and last year with Unite. Found them very easy to deal with and the accomodation is spot on.

I know people who stay at the mealmarket exchange.

Nice, modern flats with 6-8 bedrooms and a shared kitchen/living room area.

As it's all students living in the building I would suggest it's a good place to meet new friends.
