For me, if that massive cheque had my name on it, id travel around the world, pay my mortgage off, buidl myself another house, make life comfortable for my family and decendants, then give the rest away

Some of it on a good financial advisor.
Squirrel away lots in offshore accounts and live on the interest.
Set up a trust fund for each of the kids...try anything to avoid the inheritance tax they would have to pay when the time comes and any other taxes and payments in the meantime.
Hence the good financial advisor!

I would be amazed if I ever won the lotto, I don't do it.

My best hope for mega wealth is Col. Tumba Suwamba from Lagos. (If you're listening Tummy, I'm waiting for the email) :D

Build a house! Thats the first thing i would do! Whilst that was being built i would take my whole family on holiday :)

I would set savings aside for all my kids. Donate a large chunk to charity. (probably alot to a local charity that i admire)

Also tell my husband to stop working immediately and i would get a private Dr to help with health issues :) Lead a happy life.

Buy a house for my dad
Buy a house for my brother
Build a house for us
Buy a car
Give money to family members
Give a large chunk to charity
Go on a long holiday (after employing a FT Nanny so me and hubby can have some alone time)
Arrange boarding schools for the kids
Put a chunk of money into trust funds for the kids
Set up a soft play centre in Thurso

Can you tell Ive thought a lot about this particular subject?!

Have a good time & spend lots on my kids. Holidays & a new house , go and see the world . Make sure my local team were looked after & probably have a season ticket for my big team, with Helicopters chartered to take us to Glasgow. The sky is the limit with £90 million though

I can honestly say that after seeing my friends and family were alright financially I would donate most of the money to charity. My husband is of the exact same opinion.

I agree with you Alice. I have never been rich, so wouldn`t know what to do with it. Can`t imagine life if I didn`t have to hunt for bargains, or never again have the feeling of pure joy when I find something I really like at a bargain price.

I have a lovely set of royal doulton dinnerware from Bakers in Aberdeen. Bought different bits each year depending on how much I had squirrelled away. Can`t say there would be any joy in being able to have whatever I wanted in the shop all in one go.

I would have to buy a ticket first.... but saying I had then;

Have a holiday
Pay the mortgage
Get someone to give my house and garden a professional overhaul to make it all shiny and new
Employ a cleaner
Buy a mobile home
Buy a holiday home situated right on the beach somewhere on the West Coast of Scotland
Build a playpark in Scarfskerry
Invest a huge lump as a nest egg for my bairns
I'd make sure that my closest family were treated too

Not that I'd want a lot eh? LOL!

Firstly i'd find the best specialist knee and back surgeon that money can buy to fix my broken down body. Then i'll build a large house in the countryside surrounded by trees, with an indoor swimming pool for the missus, a games room for me, and a gym for both of us. And after making sure that my family will never have money worries, me and the missus will fullfill our dream of opening an animal santuary/pet store called 'Fur N' Paws' :)

You sound like a jolly decent sort of bloke.Would this house of yours be within a mile or so of a couple of pubs and if so, would you be taking in lodgers? Good luck! pm me with details if you win.

Sorry Baz, the house will be miles away from any town's light pollution so that i can spend endless hours looking up at the night sky with the big ass telescope that i will be buying. Getting to and from the pub will not be a problem though, with a lottery win in the bank, i'll not be worrying too much about the price of a taxi fare. There will also be a fully stocked bar in my games room, which will have a huge screen Tv, pool table, pinball machine, and air hockey table. I don't really watch much sports apart from The Snooker, some Darts, and Wimbledon, and i have zero interest in Football, Rugby etc, but most of my friends do, so yes, i'd probably get the Sports channels.

Always wanted to open a rescue centre for abused and neglected European horses/ponies/donkeys, so that's what I'd do.
Plus buy an equestrian property so that my daughters could get a ladder into the career they want.
Try to get OH to retire but I'm thinking it would be more a case of buying derelict properties and doing them up.
And of course I would make sure all my family were taken care of.

Ain't gonna do all that on a tenner Lotto win though am I!
