It's been announced that Her Majesty has been pleased to grant the title "Royal" to the town of Wootton Bassett, for the quiet dignity and concern demonstrated by its citizens during the all too many repatriations of service personnel killed in action.

"They also serve who 'only' stand and wait".

I think that's a nice sentiment.

Wooton Basset has become as powerful a symbol of respect for our war dead as any war memmorial.

It would be an even greater gesture if she ordered her Prime Minister to withdraw ALL troops from Middle East & Asia, thus negating the need for all the sad scenes which we frequently see on TV.
It would also stop families throughout the UK fearing the dreaded knock on the door, informing them that a loved one has died in a futile war
