hi does anyone know where i could get bark chippings, (preferably a good amount of them), locally. if anyone knows then can you give me a name and number if possible, thanks

I got mine out of homebase, but I guess it depends on how much you want. Don't know of anywhere you might be able to get a lorry load from.

Don't put them anywhere rain water might flow through. We have a strip about 4 feet wide between the concrete pavement and the kerb in front of all the houses in our street. As a cheap way of making it look neat I spread big chunky tree bark, bags and bags of it. One night during horribly heavy rain (one of the worst nights I can remember in our 21 years living here) I was coming home and saw a big streak of chunks down the street. I'm thinking to mysefl "Some poor sod's lost all his bark". About half a second passed before the sinking feeling that the poor sod might be me. It was.
