Hi guys, gals

I am new to Thurso, and wonder where do I hang out, meet people (girls also of course :Razz)... I am living on my own here so might get a bit lonely some time..

I really appreciate the laid back easy going lifestyle up here... :)

oh, I should add I am in my early 30s... :p

Not really that many places to go,the usual pubs, skins and some of the local clubs may be your best bet x

Hi there,

Welcome to Caithness!

Adults Badminton - on at Mey Hall Monday night's, about 8pm, or at Dunnet Hall (beginners) on a Thursday Night, from about 7pm. If you are interested in any of these drop me a PM as it's not on every week, and is sometimes cancelled if there is a league match on.

Yoga - new 8 week block starting at Mey Hall on a Monday night 6.30pm. Again, PM me if interested as spaces limited and I can put you in touch with our fabulous instructor!

WRI - there is a good group in Murkle, which is very close to Thurso. Not sure what nights they meet, but if you are interested, then I can put you in touch with someone about that.

Hope that helps! :Razz Have a good weekend. x

Sure he should find that entertaining! Plenty of girls, but maybe not quite in his age range! :)

Hello newbie...toffee_pie: Welcome to the org. It has been a long time since I last was in Thurso. It was quiet & laid-back then and probably hasn't changed much. I thought it was a nice town and was happy to bring my wife and two young daughters there for a visit. Give Thurso a chance, look around, and eventually you will meet nice people. Don't get too concerned with the comments you read on the Org. Sometimes they are not too kind so don't take them too serious. Some people like to blow off steam as you will probably eventually find.

But don't dare come in as a newbie and win the "best scone and jam with lace doylie" competition on the first night (or 10 years)! ;)

Not if you are going to defiantly win the best scone competition! Bad enough winning the competition before its your turn, but to do so with defiance to boot? Nope, I don't think they would think much of you! ;)
