"Michael loved football...he will be sadly missed"

THE PARENTS of Michael Cameron, fatally injured in a road accident, have spoken about their son, for the first time.
The 23-year-old was an occupant in a car which left the Inverness-Thurso A9 road and hit a farm steading, three miles north of Spittal, before colliding with a flagstone garden wall.
Emergency services, which attended at the scene, in the early hours of Saturday morning, discovered he was dead. The other occupant of the Vauxhall Astra, Stuart MacCulloch, was freed from the wreckage by firemen. He was treated initially, at Caithness General Hospital before being transferred to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Mr Cameron lived with his parents in Royal Terrace, Thurso, and worked at the Job Centre, at Wick.
His parents, William and Nicola Cameron, in a brief statement issued through the police, said that Michael-nicknamed Panda- enjoyed spending time with his partner Christy and her young child.
The Camerons continued: “Michael will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.”
The couple said that their son was "active and loved football”, both playing and watching”.
A talented young footballer, with Pentland Boys Club, Michael played for several years with Caithness Summer League. His soccer career was brought to a premature end when he suffered a leg break, for the second time.
After releasing the statement about their son, the Cameron family requested that “our privacy be respected at this tragic time.”
Police investigations into the accident are continuing.
