One of the 2 Basking sharks that were in Thurso bay last week. This one was far far bigger than any other I have seen. The second one was only a quater of the size.

The fins are shaped differently on those photos. Do the fins vary in shape, are they taken at different angles or are they both basking sharks?:confused

I got a photo of a Basking shark on Coll and the fin was shaped more like RIR's.

Confused!

Yeh, I noticed this too and it was very pointed to look at, but it was a basker. The three points were visible, head, fin and tail, and I would be extremely worried if there was any other type of shark this large out there.

The Karen fishing vessel went past just after it went under and the shark looked to be longer than it. It was massive.

The smaller one had a more curved fin, so did this one a few weeks back.
