this is so easy and tastes delicious
3lb tomatoes
1/2 pint stock either chicken or veg
1 onion roughly chopped
1 clove of garlic or a tsp of lazy garlic
knob of butter
tsp of dried basil
honey about 1 tablespoon

double cream

roughly chop tomatoes then place all ingredients except cream in a large pan, bring to the boil and simmer until all tomatoes and onions are cooked.
then eith put it through a blender or use one of the hand blenders

I was feeling a bit bored so I've just put on a pan of tomato/red pepper sort of soup, amalgamating all the recipes here.

Chopped an onion and a largish potato and what was left of a red pepper and a yellow one, added a few chopped sundried tomatoes, a drop of puree and a tin of chopped tomatoes and a couple of cloves of garlic chopped. Also added a teaspoon each of cumin and paprika and some veg stock.

Waiting with bated breath to see what happens;)
