Anyone know about fish???

We're trying to identify what the fish in our pond are. You'd think we'd know cos we put them there but really don't have a clue.
At first I thought they were golden orfe as I know some went in but from what I can see on the net it ain't them.

They're about 8 - 10 inches and look as though they've been painted with gold. They have those hanging things near their mouths and some sort of a ridge over their eyes.
Then we have another that appears to have the same mouth and eye thing but this one is silver with the most lovely blue down it's back (same size as the others).
Then we have this thing that is either a pregnant goldfish (even though it looks completely different) or is funny shaped. It's almost triangle with a normal tail. We did put in fan tails and shubunkin could it be one of these.

Also anyone know why an otherwise healthy koi doesn't grow like the others.?

Nope they're not silly Billy.

We have only just recently put in about 10 Koi and they were only 3-4 inches (approx 6 weeks ago).

These things are really quite big and look a really bright golden colour, they're are completely different to koi.

I've looked on the net and could they possibly be Tench or Golden carp?
Does anyone know whether mirror carp are silver and pale blue?

Like I said they have those basal thingies on their mouths - any ideas????

Have you tried a search on the net? Several sites have images of fish - it might help you....

mirror carp are silver.. they have shiny scales on their back but not sides.. and a black or dark mark on their nose like they have been hit

sounds like you might have a couple of ghost carp in there, certainly the golden ones you describe sound like it ..... expect a pm :)

Well they def look similar to those. The only thing is that these have those thingies hanging from either side of their mouth (I don't see em on your fish) and the silver one has this lovely pale blue back.
Very similar though.

Koi have barbules on either side of their mouths used to help find food.
