Has anyone any information on the family of Blank who lived in the Wick area from 1800's. It's possible that the name changed from Blenk or Blanc around the mid 1800's.
Cornelius was a ship pilot and married Janet Cormack (b.1779, d.1863) the daughter of Alexander Cormack and Margaret Sinclair who were married in Wick in 1778.
Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you Tricia for your very quick and informative replies.
In the 1841 Census I think that the Jenet Blank is Janet Cormack however I cannot find any trace of Cornelius and I don't know if there were records of seamen or records of deaths kept around the early and mid 1800's in Wick as Janet is shown as the head of the household in the 1851 Census it's probable that he died pre 1851. They had a son of the same name who married in Edinburgh and then moved to Glasgow.
My direct line is Angus Blank, Joseph Blank, Joseph (Josiah) Blank, Cornelius Blank.
Kind regards
Marian

I have a Margaret sinclair within my family tree who I am working on at the moment. Cormack has come into the senario but I'm not sure where at the moment. I will come back to you if I find anything out.
