My laptop is giving me problems,

Twice now I have logged on to my e-mail account and found that e-mails have been sent to everyone in my address book.

The e-mail contains a http web address all mostly for viagra

I have AVG on my laptop and have done numerous scans and they all say it clean no problems or bug

Dont know what to do, people in my address book aint happy

My internet provider is Talk Talk, but I use AOL for my e-mail address

Can anyone give me advice, all help would be very welcome

Thanks

Worth a try is always to download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756).

Years ago someone told me that if when sending emails to several addresses one of them is not valid, then it any listed after it won't receive the email. So the idea is to have a bogus email at the start of your address book. I use 111AAA111@nothing.com and so far it's worked!

out have not indicated if you use outlook on your pc or if you interface with your email via the online portal....

anyhow, there is sadly nothing 'now' you can do about it.

at somepoint in time, your address book has been leeched
that will be in the wild now and people will still get these msgs proporting to be from you
even if you cure the problem with your email program.

as advised you need to run and install

http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

you will need to uninstall AVG first.

however, i would run combofix.exe first after uninstalling avg.

download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

and then reboot your pc in safemode [reboot pc and keep hitting F8 key
then select safemode with networking

when that is done

restart as nornal and install MSE

and do a full scan.
