I am looking at putting my house on the market very soon and was wondering the best way to do it.
Local estate agent, if so who do I choose as they all have good and bad points.
Privately, should I try and advertise it myself or would this be more hassle than it's worth.
Advertise down south, do you think I'd have more chance of selling it that way?

I've previously sold a house using a local agent. It did sell quickly but I found their fees to be rather extravagant!

Starting to wonder is it worth the stress and maybe I should stay put!!!! lol

Advertise the house ( For free) on Caithness.Org ? ! We know of a family who sold their home this way after just a few weeks - more sucessful than the Estate Agent ( Incidentally, they still had to pay the Estate Agents !) Might be worth trying Caithness. Org first before approaching an Agent !

Hello

We have been looking at houses in the area.
I have found as someone who lives far away that this website has been useful.

In terms of agents we have found Georgesons website and ID Pollards website to be quite good and easy to find in google when you type property for sale caithness

It's worth putting it on here and seeing if you get a response I would have thought.

If you are selling your house and want a home report please feel free to contact http://www.ambersurvey.com. Very good prices and an experienced Surveyor. You would receive very good advise on selling too.

We have just put our house on the market and advertising with www.highlandhomesales.com (http://www.highlandhomesales.com) they are not an estate agent but an advertising company, well worth a look!

Highland Home Sales are very good, personally would not use any of the local agents, if you have land try www.ruralscene.co.uk (http://www.ruralscene.co.uk) , no up front charges, no charges for advertising or for going on Rightmove and Primelocation, no pull out charge if you change your mind (unlike some of the agents up here who want £500).
