Out of prison for two weeks...then straight back in.

A WICK man, released from prison a fortnight ago, was back behind bars today. Alexander Johnston, of the town’s Wellington Street, admitted at Wick Sheriff Court, having behaved in a threatening or abusive manner at the One Stop Shop, in the same street, on Tuesday.
Solicitor Sylvia MacLennan said that Johnston’s “sorry record” reflected a long association with alcohol but he hoped to go on a detox programme. Johnston, who appeared from custody, was said to be currently working with the Pulteneytown People’s Project.
Opposing bail, acting senior fiscal depute, Fiona Banks, referred to the accused’s “appalling record”, in particular, the fact that his last two convictions were for breach of bail conditions.
Sentence was deferred until February 14 and Johnston,49, was ordered by Honorary Sheriff Bruce de Wert to be remanded in custody.
