Looking for some restaurants or cafes where the food is good and simple and there are some nice views of the sea. Have enjoyed lunch at the Pavillion in Thurso and would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you.

Pavillion is lovely.

The blue door cafe at the caravan park also have lovely view of the bay, seaman`s mission at scrabster if you are lucky to get the corner table looks out onto the harvour. We had fish and chips, tea and a huge rock bun yesterday for £6 each.

Thanks Poppett. Heard good reviews of the Blue Door last year but had assumed they might not be open through the winter?

Also tried the Weigh Inn (which is good) but wondered if there was anywhere a bit more 'cosy'?

Think the blue door is open Tuesday - Saturday 10am until 2pm and Friday night 5pm- 8pm for fish and chips! Phone 892244 to check.

We also go to Halladale Inn at Melvich occasionally the scenery on the journey is just divine.

Not heard of the Halladale Inn before so will look forward to taking a run out there. Couldn't agree with you more regarding the views along the coast. Cheers.
