Grey screen

Every time I close the lid on my lap top, when I open it back up I get a grey screen. A bit like a misted window.

It was only happening occasionally, now its every time I close the lid.

Bit of a pain having to totally shut down every time.

when was the last time you ran some kind of diagnostics tool or PC crap cleaner
like glary utils? or Ccleaner on its registry checker?

it might well be that your hibernation file has become corrupted

could also be an issue with the display driver or 1001 things.

try also creating a new user and see if it does it logged in under diff user.
dont suspect its a physical problem [hardware]
as you say closing windows properly, cures the issue
so it must be a software issue.

more info like operating system/age of lsptop etc if you cant fix by above please

Just ran the glary thingy, touch wood things seem to be working ok just now.

Drat!!

Temporary fix only, its doing it again.

Its a compaq presario cq60, running on windows xp

can you try it under a diff user on power up please
