Can someone please help me with some verses that the older generation used to write in wedding cards.

Like lang mae yer lum reek, etc.

There is one that has something about a mouse leaving e pantry with a teardrop in the eye, but I can't remember it properly.

I had it written in one of my cards when I got married.

Thank you

May the best ye've ever seen
Be the worst ye'll ever see
May a moose ne'er leave yer girnal
Wi' a tear drap in his e'e
May ye aye keep hale an' he'rty
Till ye're auld eneuch tae dee
May ye aye be jist as happy
As we wish ye aye tae be

BTW a girnal is not a pantry, it's a wooden chest containing oatmeal.

Thanks, I seen this one on the internet, but my husband's granny had written the pantry maybe she got it a bit wrong.

One from my mother and Father's wedding telegrams:

May your joys be as deep as the snow in the glen,
And your sorrows as few as the teeth of a hen.

a couple of verses that spring to mind;

Honeymoon salad
"lettuce" alone.

Afternoon dull
evening close
further outlook
a little "son"
