What is the best application to use when trying to edit film footage into a short video? Have been trying very unsuccessfully to do this, thought there might be an idiot proof way of doing it. lol.

MS MovieMaker is OK - we use it at my current school. At my last school we used Adobe Premier which is a good package but costs quite a bit.

I use Adobe Premier Pro. Not the easiest, but I'm self taught on it, and have made a few short movies using a combination of photos/text/videos to music. If you have patience and an endless supply of tea and biccies, then you can have it cracked in a day!
