hi all thanks for all the replies.i checked what sun dogs looked like and it most definatley was not that.ive seen chineese lanterns in action but this thing moved along the horizon and not up.while it was pulsing i got a very faint look at its shape against the early morning dark blue sky it reflected the early light faintly.it looked like a metallic dart side on.but it really was faint.and i only saw it for a few secs before it went in front of a black cloud and it was gone.any other suggestions. o yes and i dont know what swamp gas lookes like.thanks all any other ideas???

Maybe it was simply an aeroplane, catching the glow of the rising sun? Or swamp gas ;)

Hi kcurl100,

I hate to say this, but did you honestly expect a serious answer on here........

Basically none of us know (but would dearly love to!) so can only jest through lack of knowledge !! ;)

Maybe an astronomer (sp?) could help you more..............?
