I have a Sony Ericsson V630i mobile phone.

The battery gave up and after securing a new one it seemed to be working fine, however, although I'm getting a full signal, it simply comes up, "Emergency Calls Only".

I have credit and I've done a master re-set and software up-date, but to no avail; it is also pay-as-you-go and out of warranty.:(

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated as I rely upon my mobile phone for work, it was bought for me as a present by my OH and I really like the phone ! :)

Have you tried taking out the sim card and wiping it, terminals side down on your sleeve/the carpet/the dog?

p.s. Don't rub it on the same bit of your sleeve as you use to wipe your nose....

Sounds like a sim card problem. Request a new one.

You could always go in the settings and try another network.

Good luck.

Maybe your network provider is having transmission problems in your area? I'd give them a phone and find out.

try the sim in another phone on the same network or on an unlocked phone
else as suggested, ensure the gold areas on the sim are clean and bright.
