Saturday Play – Hill Of Rains
2.30-3.30pm BBC RADIO 4
This romantic drama from award-winning Scots playwright Colin MacDonald has all the ingredients of a classic love story; two lonely, unhappy people from opposite ends of the world meet in the beautiful setting of the south-west Highlands of Scotland.
Initially, there’s a clash of wills, but soon a shared history, a love of music and words, and a day spent walking in the hills and getting thoroughly soaked by large amounts of very Scottish rain, work their magic and the play’s ending will melt the hardest heart.
Bill Paterson plays John Morrison and Lorelei King plays Cathy.
The cast also includes Stuart Milligan, Debora Weston, Stuart McQuarrie, Sean Scanlan,Tracy Wiles, Sally Kinghorn and Ed Bishop. Producer/Marilyn Imrie

Hi Colin

Long time no see. At least 15 years by my reckoning, maybe even longer.

Really enjoyed the play. Listened to the first 15 minutes, then taped the rest while I went to see the big match - Inverurie Locos v Deveronvale in the Scottish Qualifying Cup. An even bigger game next week - Wick Academy. But I'll be away on holiday.

All the best to you and family.

Tom
