Northern lights

There is a small display of lights in the north visable over here at the moment!

saw the start of some lights earlier on this evening on the way back from Mey looking out towards Orkney, was greeny , pinkish cloud .....

They didnt come to much tonight but thats so often the way of it!!. It is encouraging that they are returning to the skys at last though!

Thanks for the picture... I hope one day in my lifetime I get to see this. It looks amazing

To tell the truth bullielove it does not realy look like this in reality. The camera condenses the colour over the long exposure. In fact the effect is a lot more subtle, more like the the full moon is shining behind the clouds rather than an emerald glow.
