Just random wondering because at a friends and I'm positive I've seen a small green spiky fruit in lidls, that when opened up is white and pink or red. I'm sure it starts with A, but not positive. :-) Not actually positive this is real or I've dreamt it. :-) hoping to solve an argument. I've searched all over the internet to find it, with no luck what so ever. :-( cheers. :-)

definately sounds like a dragon fruit.
green and spikey on the outside
and white with lots of tiny black spots inside like a kiwi does?

although unlike picture i have seen them in tesco with a pure green outer.

my oh took to it for a while as there was a programme on the telly explaining how its good for preventing against cancer.

Wouldn't think it's a Durian - used to eat these in the Far East, they can be big things - I think a good description of them was "it's like eating peaches and cream in a really bad public loo"..

A custard apple: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Custard-apple
A Lychee: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lychee
The lychee can have more than one pip, but they are in the middle and not spread through the flesh of the fruit

I would agree with a lychee as a dragon fruit is a lot bigger.

Dragon fruit is a deep pink, also called pitaya.

I'm guessing you dreamt it LOL Have some chamomile tea before bedtime.

Lychees are red on the outside, and kind of lumpy but no spikes. Flesh is sort of creamy grey, with a big seed. And deeeelicious.

Perhaps a starfruit? No spikes but the rest kinda fits...
