So I have been lucky enough to get a new camera for my Christmas. ( Thanks Mum&Dad )

And today I ventured out for my first spree.

Used a 0.45X Wide Angle Lens. I will admit I have no idea what I'm doing, So if you've got any pointers please do tell.

But here is my first bash...

what type of camera did you get Zebedy?

think the most useful pointers would be to get out with your camera and practice as much as you can, read up about exposure and depth of field and when taking photos don't always do it from standing, especially with a wide angle lens, get down low, crouching or even lying. If you haven't got it already, get a good editing software programme, you can pick up versions of Adobe Elements 8 for around £50 now that v9 is out

I too like no2, the exposure is better and its much sharper. I really like the gates in the water.

Look forward to seeing more photos from you

Another tip when doing animal photography is to get down or up to their level, ok I appreciate you were n't going to be kneeling in the snow!

Re: DragonFly - I got a Canon 550D EOS Rebel T2i

I've got the full adobe package on my iMac, So I've got a lot of reading up to do on that, I've got basic knowledge of PhotoShop from my time in Art at school.

Also got PictureStyleEditor free with my camera, but not very fluent with it yet.

Thanks again folks.

Zeb, these's no better way to learn than to get out there and shoot. You've made a good start.

Pay no attention to the Monday morning quarterbacks who criticise but never do any photography themselves.
Loads of info available on the web from basic camera techniques to some deep theoretical stuff.
Do what you want to do and dont be put off by people who dont like this or that about your shots.

As Deemac says, get out there and practice and more importantly, experiment and even more important, enjoy it.
