The Rockwater Shield Quarter finals took place on monday night, with defending champions Camps2 going through 12-7 on aggregate against the Crown1.
The 2nd leg was the complete opposite of the first as there was some outstanding pool on show. Ian Mcdonald completed a fantastic total clearance, grannying Thomas Sutherland to make it 3-2 to the Camps. Only one frame was required to put the Camps2 out of reach and Alec Thomson cleared a difficult table to help put his team in the semi-finals. Even though the tie was over, the match continued and the crown squared it at 4-4 thanks to a fabulous total clearance from former captains cup winner Colin Banks, but it wasnt enough as the camps went on to win 6-4.
They now look likely to meet Bayview1 in the semi-finals as they recorded a 6-0 victory over Blackstairs2 in their first leg match.
The Seaforth Club Confirmed their place in the semi-finals with another 6-2 victory over MountainDew2. The Seaforth came from 2-1 down, but thanks to Kevin Beales and David Malcolm winning 2 important frames they coasted through 12-4 on aggregate.
They will now face either The Commercial or The Francis Street Club, with the latter 6-2 up from the first leg.
The Wick & District Pool League now takes a short break, and will resume on the 10th January.
