Does anyone there remember the Boatyard in Scarfskerry ?

Did the girls who lived there have horses called Tinky and Becky? If so I remember them because they got the horses on loan from my father.

Yeah, thats us, been away from Caithness a while now.
Planning a visit in September. Miss the ponies, visited
tinky a while ago, she got small or me got big, is it
Stacey she with now, what a stunner of a horse that is.
Tinky - smallest one there n still the biggest bully. ha ha
Think ma sis adopted her attitude. still looking for the
baby Becky. She out at Dunnet now ?

Tinky is still with the same family and at the moment she is in the field at Pennyland farm where they are planning to build the new ASDA's. I am sure she would be delighted to see you especially if you bring her something to eat! Becky now lives in Dunnet as you do rightly say.

My husband worked at a boatyard in Scarfskerry making clinker built boats when he was a teenager - it would be 15 - 18 years ago now.

I would of been about 6 - 9 then maybe wouldn't remember him,
ur husband not Willie ? ? ? Is he still involved with boats ?
our yard down here has just finished a fishing boat for the
youngest daughter. We left about 7 yrs ago and weren't to
good at keeping touch, wondering whos kicking about now.

Cant quite remember when you left i was thinking around third year in high school but it must have been after that. Havent seen or spoken to you since you left Skarfskerry. The old days are coming flooding back of all the parties at the boatyard, the time we were quite bad to your little sister letting her drift away in a boat from the harbour of the list goes on and on. I am talking about when we were at school. Thought you might have guessed by my username...........

Snow, dont think so not the last time I was there
just pink pigs falling from the sky.

Was over 100 clinker and carvel fishing boats built at the
boatyard up there, I seen 18 yrs of the building of them.
All succesfuly launched and none have sank.
The boatyard was sadly closed down shortly after
fishing licenses came into effect. [disgust]
